Mr. Yashwant Singh Thakur, (M. Tech. in Applied Geology from Sagar University, Madhya Pradesh, India) is a Geologist, actively involved in mining of minor and major minerals in Odisha as well as other major parts of India since almost thirty years. In addition, he has also actively participated as a consultant in overseas mining projects in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, and most of the African countries.

He started his career as a Consultant in 1990’s in coal mining for South-Eastern Coal fields (Chhattisgarh) and Mahanadi Coalfields (Odisha). Further, went on to work as a consultant for NMDC in Gua Iron Ore project (Jharkhand). As an exploration geologist, Mr. Y.S. Thakur, surveyed the major areas of Iron ore deposits in Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. From 2000 onwards, he has been working with various National and Multi-National Companies, in various iron ore, coal, bauxite, manganese, copper and rock phosphate, mining projects across the world. He has a working experience as a Senior Consultant with the Nagarjuna Group, Hyderabad, Obulapuram Mining Company, Vanasree Minerals and Industries Private Limited, Bellary, Brahmani Steel Limited, Cuddpah, (Andhra Pradesh), Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited, Bhubaneswar and Jakarta (Overseas Projects), Pt. Earthstone, Jakarta (Indonesia), Vision Minerals, Mozambique, Vision Resources, UAE and Singapore.

After an enriching experience as a well-versed Mining Geologist and Consultant with an overall exposure and insights about major minerals, he has continued interests in consultancy. His great passion for geology has pushed him to explore new mineral deposits in different parts of the world as well as sharing his findings and knowledge with visionary governments and private sector organization.
